Ekatahuna Golf Club

Where sheep and golfers mingle and the river just wanders by. Belonging to a small rural community we don't have a platoon of greens staff. What we do have is good New Zealand sheep.

These woolly animals earn their keep by keeping the grass down, fertilizing the course and putting a smile on the faces of our visitors.

In addition, we have our green keeper and a great bunch of members who give freely of their time to keep the course in good playing order. The course is an easy walk with just a few short uphill walks to a some elevated tees. All greens are secured from the sheep (they can't putt) ensuring that the only obstacle to that magic one putt is your skill and a bit of "Irish" luck.

The "Cliffs" form the back drop to teeing off on hole number two (2) ten (10) and eleven (11) and the area around the 14th Hole is one of the most picturesque on the course.

The Sheep Track The Sheep Track is for those who have only a short time to visit but would like to play golf and see our most picturesque holes. Starting on hole twelve (12) it consists of seven (7) holes and can be played in around 60 - 90 minutes The route is holes 12,13, 14, 18, 1, 10 and 11. Green fees remain the same at $20 regardless of how many holes you wish to play. Your honesty is really appreciated in this regard.
