I have been enthusiastic about golf since a young age, the game is always presenting itself with new challenges, and you never stop learning. I have been playing the game 30 years and working in the industry for 18 years. Once leaving school I started work at the Greenacres Golf Club in Nelson.
I continued to play amateur golf and had the opportunity to work in Canada for their summer of 1992 at the Shadow Ridge Golf Club B.C.
After a successful amateur career I turned professional in 1995 and played in various pro-am events around N.Z. I was selected to represent N.Z. at the Australian Trainee Futures Tournament.
That year my best finish was 1st equal in the Club Professional Championship, finishing the year 10th on the N.Z. Order of Merit.
I moved to Christchurch in 1998 to further my coaching career at the Harewood Golf Club and recognising early on that my passion lies in teaching. I spent 5 1/2 years at Harewood and enjoyed being part of a Club environment.
In 2003 I received my AAA accreditation from the NZPGA, the highest qualification in Australiasia.
From 2003 – 2011 I was the Head Professional at Garden City Golf in Christchurch.
Since February 2011 I have based myself at The Christchurch Golf Club (Shirley). I have a good client base and find it very satisfying to share in the successes of my students.
I also provide coaching for Canterbury Golf development programmes aimed at bringing players up to representative level. I also work with the NZPGA at national level with the delivery of training to Trainee Professionals.
For many years I have had connection to the West Coast.
I have worked over the past 6 years with players and Clubs in North Canterbury which has lead to a successful program being run at Kaiapoi Golf Club since 2008.
