The Bluff Golf Club is a scenic, unpretentious 9-hole golf course located in Greenhills, Southland, New Zealand. Situated just 15 minutes away from Invercargill, it serves as the country’s southernmost mainland 9-hole course. It treats players to breathtaking, sweeping views across the Mokomoko estuary.
The layout features a compact mix of flat and undulating fairways that run down toward the inlet and back up the hill. Notable highlights include the par-5 second hole, “Kohatu” (meaning rock), which features a rocky mid-fairway hazard, and the par-3 third hole.
Because of its coastal location, the course is frequently affected by strong westerly winds, turning what is normally a relatively straightforward layout into a highly engaging test of skill.
It operates as an honesty-box facility where public visitors can simply turn up and play for a low green fee.
